We were lucky enough to have three cars invited to race at the Goodwood 78th Members to race in the Ronnie Hoare Trophy race for pre 1966 GT cars.
We took the recently finished 904 GTS and not one but two 1964 production Porsche 901's.
We had an extremely successful event with all cars running faultlessly.
Both the 901’s qualified well with Andrew Smith 6th overall and 1st 911 and Tarek M qualifying 23rd. Tarek drove a superb race climbing 4 places during the race to cross the line 19th and 4th 911 out of 8. Andrew had a superb battle with Tim Layzell in his TVR Grantura but Andrew eventually got the better of the TVR to finish 5th overall ahead of most of the much faster Porsche 904’s.
But it was Olly Bryant who stole the show in the 904 GTS. He qualified on Pole, got the fastest lap and took the victory as well. It wasn’t all plain sailing though as the 904 got jumped at the start by the 275 GTB and the Morgan SLR. Olly make quick work to regain 1st position with two superb overtakes. Once in the lead, Olly didn’t look back and took the win by 5 seconds.
Great credit must go to our hard working team to ensure all cars ran so well and that the 904 was just a painted shell in the workshop only 9 months ago.
